Callan studied A-level Media, History and Business at school. Most notably he achieved full marks for his cross-media coursework production in Y13. He is now an undergraduate in filmmaking, on the BA Cinematography
and Photography course at Leeds Beckett University. The BA focuses on industry employability, as well as
covering the theoretical and creative side to filmmaking. Across the three years Callan has studied a range of fictional and nonfictional practice, in roles such as directing, cinematography, preproduction organisation and postproduction editing. In his first year, his stand out piece was Splint, a short factual piece about a young
athlete from Manchester. He received a commendation for his work and the film was exhibited at the Sheffield Documentary Festival.
