SUMMER SHORTS 2022:
Digital Filmmaking Week
Ages 7 - 12
Ages 13 - 18 (or a mix of both!)
Tuesday May 31st - Friday June 3rd (4 days)
Participants will:

practice digital skills, develop imagination and exercise critical thinking
-
use cool technology, develop team work skills and make new friends
So who will be leading the courses?

Film makers, experienced teachers and instructors (all DBS-cleared)
So, here's how it works: 09.00 - 16.00
-
camera/sound/drone/digital technology training
-
learning to use Adobe/Final Cut Pro editing software
-
using tracking, tripods, lighting and electronics
-
acting-for-camera training
-
production role training (DoP, Lighting, Continuity, Sound)
-
some participants create The Making Of... documentary
-
some will take on editing roles, logging footage and creating trailers
On the final day:
-
Final pick-ups and re-shoots
-
WRAP party! (NB: this is an abbreviation, for 'Wind, Reel And Print'?)
And a couple of months later...?
A premiere evening, (with pop and popcorn) that's what, where we show:

'First Day Films' - where all the rookie errors get exposed!
-
'The Making of...', documentary, showing the chaos, interviews and more!
-
The Trailer - a sneak-peek at what is to come
-
'The Finished Feature' - the main film played live to the audience.
As well as the screening, everyone receives:

An engraved OSCAR-style statue recording technical skills learnt

A beautiful and professionally printed Certificate of Attendance

Some students receive a further trophy, for outstanding contribution
